More than 100 retailers took a coffee and music break with the Munce Group on Tuesday afternoon of the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS).

During the Munce Coffee House Live event, Starbucks coffee with cookies was served, while the company drove home the "service with a smile" message between sets from Provident-Integrity Distribution artists John Waller with special guest Mark Hall (Casting Crowns), Monk & Neagle and Third Day. The artists answered questions and even solicited special musical requests in the relaxed setting.

Diane Estes-Comp of Anthem, Ariz.'s, Pathways Christian Bookstore told Christian Retailing her reason for attending was to get to know the artists behind the music in a more intimate setting.

"I just wanted to see the guys up close," she said. "We sell a lot of their music, and getting to know their hearts a little bit and what's behind their songs, it really helps us being frontline people and selling the record."

Brad Poel, Munce media and events manager, said the event was open to all independent retailers, "both Munce members and non-Munce members."

"It gives retailers a chance to gather and hear some great new music from Provident-Integrity artists and get a break during the ICRS," Poel said.
