Two new books reflecting the voices of motherhood past and present are being released in time for Mother’s Day. TV mom Kate Gosselin from the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 comments on the life lessons God has taught her as a mother of twins and sextuplets in Eight Little Faces: A Mom’s Journey ($14.99, April) from Zondervan. Each two-page spread in the gift book includes a photograph from the Gosselin family album, words from Kate and Scripture verses.

Robert Spooner Galerie has responded to requests from customers for a smaller version of the company’s Ten Commandments artwork. While its original 30-by-37-inch piece retails for $379, a 16-by-18-inch version debuted in January for $57. The two printed tablets on the new version are framed in nickel with a rust matte. A Spanish version is also available. The piece is signed by the artist, Betty Spooner.

A unique addition to the “The Psalm 23 Jewelry Collection” from Laura K Designs is the Psalm 23 Axis Ring, a two-ring set of stainless steel rings. The outer band is inscribed with, “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want...Psalm 23.” The inner band reads, “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” The rings do not separate and are worn by one person. The inner ring can spin, but can also rotate in any direction, making visible the writing on it. Available this month in whole sizes 5 to 9, the Axis Ring retails for $24.99.

Harvest House Publishers is tackling difficult issues families face with two hardcover gift books, both releasing in January. Prayers of Comfort for Those Who Hurt by Hope Lyda ($12.99) and When Someone You Love Has Cancer by Cecil Murphey ($10.99) each offer paintings, prayers and verses.

Divinity Boutique’s line of personalized, faith-based accessories has stores making repeat orders. In six months from its March launch, the "PEGZ" line had sold more than 1 million of its 21 charm designs. The $1 charms are pushed through the holes of shoes or the other products in the line—bookmarks, journals and bracelets. New products are on the way in 2009.
