The makers of the surprise hit Fireproof (Provident Films/Provident-Integrity Distribution) plan to reveal their follow-up to the top independent movie release of 2008 next month.

After "much prayer, creative brainstorming and wise counsel," Sherwood Pictures is ready to move ahead with their film, said officials for Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga.--where Fireproof and their earlier films were made.

"On Sunday, Nov. 15, Sherwood Pictures will announce the name and the theme of their fourth film during their evening church service," Sherwood officials said. "The members of Sherwood church will be the first to learn about their next movie ministry."

During the National Religious Broadcasters Convention earlier this year, Fireproof Director Alex Kendrick said the yet-unnamed Sherwood Pictures film would have an expected budget of $2.5 million--five times larger than with the pro-marriage drama. Kendrick and his Fireproof movie-making brother, Stephen, recently told Christian Retailing that scriptwriting of the new project was to start soon, with production due next year and a theatrical release planned for early 2011.

"The leaders of Sherwood Pictures--Michael Catt, Jim McBride, Alex and Stephen Kendrick--have been praying about the story for the next movie," Sherwood officials said. "Their prayer hasn't been for a good movie; it's been for a God movie. As was the case first with Flywheel, then with Facing the Giants and most recently with Fireproof , they believe God has answered their prayers."

Boosted by grass-roots support and bulk ticket purchases from churchgoers as well as some Christian retailers, Fireproof made $33.3 million at the box office, despite a modest $500,000 budget. The movie, which stars Kirk Cameron as a firefighter who turns to God to save his marriage, has been a top-selling DVD at Christian retail since it was released Jan. 27.

Meanwhile, The Love Dare (B&H Books/B&H Publishing Group)--an integral part of Fireproof--written by Stephen and Alex Kendrick still appears on the New York Times best-seller list a year after its release. It has sold more than 3 million copies and is available in 22 languages. The Love Dare: 40 Dares, an application for Apple's iPhone, has also reached the top of the iPhone application best-seller list.
