B&H Publishing Group is introducing a new concept in study Bibles, utilizing QR code technology to link specific Scripture passages from print to online resources.

The Life Essentials Study Bible, due Oct. 1 from pastor and teacher Gene Getz, will introduce 1,500 scriptural principles essential to the Christian life in text next to the verses that inspired them. Each life principle features a QR code readable by smartphone linking to more than 250 hours of Getz’s online video and audio teaching related to the principle.

“I’m convinced that this study Bible is one-of-a-kind,” Getz said. “The 1,500 principles are life-affirming, each one right by the scriptures that inspired it, each one with a question to help the reader apply the principle to where he or she is in life right at that moment. A “Principle Finder” in front of the study Bible categorizes the 1,500 items into 241 topics. Other features include Content, where the life principles tie together the entire biblical story with brief commentary ask readers an application question; Life Relation, relating each principle to real people; Supracultural, showing that each principle is universally true; and Communication Style, with each principle embedded in text.
