thomasnelson_evenbetteroneThomas Nelson has announced the launch of Devotionals Daily, an interactive devotionals app, assimilating inspirational thoughts and insights from well-known Christian authors into daily updates. Initial offerings include best-selling devotionals from authors such as Sarah Young, Max Lucado, Sheila Walsh, Beth Moore and Billy Graham.

“We are thrilled with the success of the current Jesus Calling app and look forward to the latest version found inside the Devotionals Daily app,” said Jake Press, CEO of Hello Mogo, the apps’ developer. “We continue to receive an inpouring of emails from fans that have downloaded the current version, sharing how it has positively affected their lives. New Day Christian partners with Fair Trade company Print Email

GiftsWithACause-CrossCuffNew Day Christian Distributors recently began working with Gifts With a Cause, a San Diego-based company that works with artisans in more than 20 countries.

A member of the Fair Trade Federation, Gifts With a Cause was founded by Liz Allen and Mark Fangue in 2006. The company helps families in developing countries gain economic independence and receive social justice while providing retailers and nonprofits with a line of handcrafted products, including jewelry, handbags and scarves.

Hachette banks on value of physical books with expanded distribution center Print Email

HachetteBookGroup-webHachette Book Group (HBG) has announced that it will expand its primary North American distribution center in Lebanon, Ind. When completed, the expanded facility will be approximately 1.5 million square feet, in two buildings.

Construction is scheduled to begin in March and will increase the facility by an additional 218,000 square feet. It is also expected to add 10 new full-time jobs.

Munce Group hosts retailers at new CPE at AmericasMart Print Email

Barbour-CPEAmericasMart-webChristian retailers convened Wednesday, Jan. 8, for the first CPE at AmericasMart held in conjunction with the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. The one-day event hosted by Munce Group, the Florida-based retail marketing group, helped to make navigating the gift show easier for Christian retailers and brought in non-gift vendors for the purpose of making time away from the store more productive.

Kirk Blank, president of Munce Group, said that vendor spaces were sold out with 28 of them setting up shop. Among the gift and distribution companies exhibiting at the one-day CPE were Anchor Distributors, Art & Soul Works/Gifts That Give Back, Barbour Publishing, Bob Siemon Designs, Christian Art Gifts, DaySpring, Kerusso, New Day Christian Distributors, Send the Light Distribution and Swanson Christian Products.

In Search of Deep Faith received the top prize of “Best of the Best” for The Leader’s Inner Life category. Runner-up titles include One Way Love by Tullian Tchividjian (David C Cook), Why Nobody Wants to Go to Church Anymore by Thom and Joani Schultz (Group Publishing), Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung (Crossway) and Gospel by J.D. Greear (B&H Books).

Jantz is a Christian book industry veteran whose 40-year professional career includes several phases: owning and operating one of the nation’s leading Christian retail stores; co-writing more than 50 Christian nonfiction books with sales of more than 3.5 million copies worldwide; and founding the digital publishing and content platform ConversantLife.com. Since 2011, Jantz has served as the publishing director for Regal Books, a division of Gospel Light.
