Zondervan to release ‘Inklings' gift book Fans of "The Chronicles of Narnia" author C.S. Lewis and "The Lord of the Rings" author J.R.R. Tolkien fans will be treated to a full-color introduction of their group of literary friends dubbed "The Inklings" in The Inklings of Oxford: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Their Friends, to be released by Zondervan this month. Lewis scholar Harry Lee Poe has joined with award-winning photographer James Ray Veneman to create the guide, which examines the lives, careers and city of these friends. A three-part walking tour of Oxford, England, with original maps, suggested stops and local background, is also included. Poe holds the Charles Colson Chair of Faith and Culture at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., and is the author of 13 books. Veneman is assistant professor and director of visual communication at Union University, and was the principal photographer for the book A Greater Freedom: Stories of Faith From Operation Iraqi Freedom (B&H Publishing Group). At 176 pages, the 8.5-by-11-inch softcover book The Inklings of Oxford has a suggested retail price of $24.99.
