Military dog tag honors patron saint

GI Jewelry, Tennessee-based manufacturer of genuine U.S. Military Issue religious jewelry, has introduced a contemporary St. Michael's Medal, honoring St. Michael, who is considered the patron saint of soldiers and policemen.

For the first time in more than 300 years, this icon has been updated with a contemporary design. The figures in the medal are drawn with simple clean lines and have the popular "retro tech" look.

St. Michael's triumph in battle over Lucifer is depicted on the medal with the archangel-spear and knife in hand-towering over a defeated Lucifer, who is represented by a fallen dragon.

The medal is precision laser cut out of 100% stainless steel. It measures 1-1/8 inches tall by 3/4 inches wide and is attached to a 24-inch stainless steel dog tag-type beaded chain.

GI Jewelry's line is designed to survive the rigors of military use. The company supplies its product to the Joint Services Chaplains Division through the Defense Supply Agency and to more than 2,000 retailers worldwide.
