For the fifth year in a row, Jason Ingram has been named Christian Songwriter of the Year during SESAC's annual Christian Music Awards, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported. During the performing rights organization's 2010 ceremonies, held Feb. 24 in Nashville, Ingram was recognized for writing "Light Up the Sky," which was recorded by The Afters. Ingram also wrote "Healing Begins," which was recorded by Tenth Avenue North, and "Keep Changing the World," recorded by Mikeschair. Ingram set a Gospel Music Association record earlier this month when he received 11 Dove Award nominations. Other SESAC award-winners included Cary Barlowe, Ian Eskelin, Tenth Avenue North's Mike Donehey, Regie Hamm, Tiffany Arbuckle Lee and Sony/ATV Timber Publishing—named Christian Publisher of the Year, the Tennessean reported. Based in Nashville, SESAC—originally the Society of European Stage Authors & Composers—is a service organization overseeing royalty collection and music licensing. |
