Howard Books announced that the three books the publishing house has released from the Phil Robertson family—stars of the hit A&E reality show Duck Dynasty—each have more than 1 million copies in print. “We are extremely excited to be working with the Robertson family on their books,” said Jonathan Merkh, vice president and publisher of Howard Books. “What we are seeing with these books is nothing short of remarkable, maybe even historical. I am not aware of any other family on television or in the public eye that has accomplished what we are seeing.” The first of the family’s books—The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson—released in October 2012 and has hit numerous best-seller lists. Happy, Happy, Happy by Phil Robertson debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best-sellers list in May, and Si-cology 1 by Si Robertson released Sept. 3—quickly achieving the 1 million mark. “We knew when we signed with Howard Books, Simon & Schuster that we were in the right hands,” said Phil Robertson. “Hearing our books have all hit over 1 million copies, well…what can I say other than we are happy, happy, happy.” The publishing house plans to announce more books from the family in 2014. |
