Tyndale House Publishers author Brian Birdwell's ministry, Face the Fire, has donated nearly $50,000 to hospital burn units, burn survivors and their families, and wounded servicemen and women in the last three years.

Birdwell, who was severely burned when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11, is the author of Refined by Fire. Proceeds from the sale of the book and from speaking engagements have gone directly to the ministry and its donations.

Face the Fire Ministries helped to fund Fisher Houses on military installations-facilities similar to Ronald McDonald Houses-and their child-development centers.
