Cook Communications Ministries has launched a free, serialized podcast to promote Christian fiction series the “Cradleland Chronicles” by Douglas Hirt. An audio version of Flight to Eden, the first book in the series, will be provided free to listeners in six-chapter increments each week, to encourage listeners to buy the other two books in the series, Cook said in a statement.

Quest for Atlan released in August 2005, and The Fall of the Nephilim will release in June. The “Cradleland Chronicles” was selected from other Cook/RiverOak titles because of its appeal to a science fiction/fantasy and technology-savvy audience, the company said. The podcast is believed to be the first of its kind from a publisher of Christian books, and will be professionally narrated and produced by Books in Motion.

The “Cradleland Chronicles” is a trilogy of fiction stories about the pre-Flood earth. Readers who subscribe to the podcast can access a specially created Web site, www.cradlelandchronicles.com/, with a timeline, glossary, character guide and downloads. The podcast will release Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for six weeks beginning in May. Each day's podcast lasts approximately 55 minutes. Podcasts are only available through iTunes or Windows Media Player.
