The Gospel Music Association (GMA) Music Awards have begun offering exclusive music downloads of two live performances from the 37th annual GMA Music Awards. The Apple iTunes Music Store is carrying two exclusive tracks from the awards ceremony. The first is an acoustic medley tribute to Steven Curtis Chapman upon winning his 50th Dove Award, performed by Mark Hall (Casting Crowns), Mac Powell (Third Day), Jeremy Camp and David Crowder. The second download is the performance of 2006 Dove Award Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year Chris Tomlin singing “How Great Is Our God,” the 2006 Dove Award Song of the Year. The track ends with the audience joining Tomlin in singing the hymn “How Great Thou Art.” The tracks are available for 99 cents each at the iTunes Music Store; albums from all of the 2006 Dove Award winners and performers on the awards show are on a special Dove feature page for iTunes users, www.gmamusicawards.com/iTunes The GMA Music Awards, also known as the Dove Awards, were presented live in Nashville on April 5 and are currently airing in national syndication through May 21. |
