Zondervan and its marketing and public relations agency, Lambert, Edwards & Associates (LE&A), recently garnered a 2007 Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for the launch of the celebrity-driven audiobook Inspired By … The Bible Experience. Zondervan won the award, considered the public relations industry's most prestigious honor, in one of the Marketing Consumer Products categories, according to PRSA. The award recognized Zondervan and LE&A for developing and executing the public relations campaign for Inspired By … The Bible Experience, which has sold more than 300,000 units in eight months to become Zondervan's fastest-selling Bible, outselling perennial best-sellers, company officials said. It was the second consecutive year that Zondervan and LE&A received the award, having won a 2006 Silver Anvil for the launch of the Today's New International Version Bible. Bill Oechsler, executive vice president of marketing at Zondervan, said that Inspired By… The Bible Experience was "one of the most important products Zondervan has ever brought to market, and it demanded innovative thinking, solid execution and incredible tenacity." The public relations program for the audiobook secured more than 420 print stories, including features in USA Today, the Associated Press and Newsday as well as TV spots on CNN and Weekend Today, Zondervan officials said. The Old Testament and complete Bible editions of Inspired By… The Bible Experience are scheduled for release in October. |
