Best-selling author and speaker John Maxwell has been named most influential leadership guru, according to his publisher, Thomas Nelson. Maxwell, founder of three leadership organizations-Maximum Impact, INJOY Stewardship and EQUIP-was recently voted No. 1 in a worldwide survey sponsored by Leadership Gurus International (LGI).

Maxwell finished first from a field of the top 30 leaders, who "most effectively develop and instill leadership in others," LGI said. The leaders included business and industry professionals, as well as academic leaders and consultants in numerous fields.

"We're all winners on this list, but to be chosen the 'winner of the winners' is an inexpressible honor," Maxwell said.
