Thomas Nelson has announced the resignation of Byron Williamson, the company's executive vice president, strategic growth & development. Williamson came to Nelson in fall 2006 in its acquisition of Integrity Publishers, where he had served as president and CEO. With the Integrity transition now complete, Williamson has decided to step down from his role at Nelson to focus on developing creative media for the Christian community, which may involve authors, artists and other innovative content developers. "Byron has been instrumental in guiding the transition and assimilation of Integrity into Nelson," Thomas Nelson CEO Michael Hyatt said, adding: "Integrity Publishers was a great acquisition. We are very pleased with both the authors and employees who joined us here at Nelson. Byron built a great team. We wish him continued success in his new endeavors and look forward to doing a lot of business with him." Williamson, who founded Integrity Publishers, was previously president of Word Publishing and divisional president of Thomas Nelson. "Although I am leaving Thomas Nelson, I have great confidence in Mike and his entire management team," Williamson said. "What remarkable people. I expect we will find many ways to work together in the future." |
