Author Janice Shaw Crouse was presented with The Abstinence Clearinghouse's Advocacy Award at its recent annual convention. Crouse, the director and senior fellow of the Beverly LaHaye Institute and author of A Different Kind of Strength and A Woman's Path to True Significance (both Harvest House), received the award for her "behind the scenes" work in educating people about the effects of teen sex and how abstinence programs reduce teen sexual activity. Crouse's work has also influenced public policy through her analysis of data about teen sexual activity, the risk of condoms, the dramatic increase in STDs and failures of condom-based sex education. "We are pleased that the Abstinence Clearinghouse, one of CWA's sister organizations with a mutal mission on promoting abstinence, honored one of our team," said Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of Concerned Women for America CWA. "It is always gratifying when a CWA expert is recognized for her excellence and professionalism."
