In response to singer Mark Schultz's recent "Across America" benefit bicycle ride that raised more than $250,000 to help orphans and widows through Family Christian Stores' James Fund, Word Entertainment has launched the Mark Schultz Activity Fund to provide fun outings for children at Back2Back Ministries children's home in Monterrey, Mexico. Through the fund, children will have opportunities to visit an amusement park, movie theater and other recreational options. Word launched the fund with a $1,000 donation that will be subsidized as the fund is depleted. Outside donations are being accepted at www.jamesfund.org. Word Entertainment was "so pleased to play a small part in what Mark Schultz and the James Fund are doing to touch the lives of orphans in Mexico," said Rod Riley, senior vice president of marketing for Word Label Group. "I speak for the entire Word Entertainment family when I say, 'We couldn't be more proud of Mark and what he has accomplished.' " |
