Crowne Music Group has been renamed SHELTERecords. The name change comes after several changes in the company, including an address change from Franklin, Tenn., to neighboring city Nashville, Tenn., as well as several staff changes.

Crowne Music Group, home to artists such as Larnelle Harris and The Happy Goodmans, began to make strides into the AAA/CHR market over the past few years.

Owner Gary Chapman wants to open the doors of SHELTERecords to not only the Christian-music market, but also to the general market. The company will still work with WEA/Word Distribution.

The first release on SHELTERecords will be the pop/rock trio of sisters called Everlife, whose self-titled album will be in stores Aug. 24. This release will be a joint venture with Tovah Records.
