Grayson Russell, the 9-year-old redhead who played Texas Ranger Bobby in the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, stars in the recently released episode of the "Bibleman" DVD series.

In Crushing the Conspiracy of the Cheater, Grayson plays Jake. "Jake becomes influenced by the villain, the Cheater, who convinces Emily to cheat in the upcoming Bible Bowl," Grayson told The Clanton (Alabama) Advertiser. "The Cheater entices Jake to help Emily cheat, but in the end they realize that cheating is not the right way to go."

The opportunity to appear in Crushing the Conspiracy of the Cheater came in April after Grayson presented the award for Group of the Year with Rebecca St. James during the 38th Annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards in Nashville.

About a week after the award show, Steve Gilbreath, producer of the Dove Awards who also produces the "Bibleman" series, asked if Grayson would like to star in the series. "It was on my birthday (May 1) when he called," Grayson recalled, the Advertiser reported.

The "Bibleman" DVD series are distributed in the Christian retail channel by Thomas Nelson Publishers.
