A guide for Christians facing tough times is being rush released by Strang Book Group, after its message of hope was championed by a New York Times (NYT) best-selling author.

Brian Zahnd's What to Do on the Worst Day of Your Life is to be published March 3 by Christian Life, an imprint of the Strang Book Group, which also includes Charisma House, FrontLine and Siloam.

The 160-page book offers help and encouragement based on lessons from King David's life that Zanhd--founder and senior pastor of Word of Life Church (WOLC) in St. Joseph, Mo.--says provide "a pattern for turning tragedy into triumph" for those for whom "life feels more like a death march than a ticker-tape parade."

The book was brought to Strang Book Group's attention by pastor and author Jentezen Franklin, whose Charisma House title, Fasting, made the NYT charts last year. Jentezen recently read an old edition of Zahnd's book--based on a 1993 sermon and self-published at WOLC--and found it to be a "God-inspired blueprint" for surviving a crisis.

"We made a decision to publish within a week of learning about it," said Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of the Strang Book Group. "We believe that this message is very timely. With all that is happening with the economy right now, so many people are desperate for answers. Though it is not a 'quick fix,' this book offers real hope."

Long out of print, the original edition has been revised and updated and features a foreword by Franklin. The jacketed hardcover book will retail for $14.99, and is to be supported by a Web site where readers will be able to share their experiences and interact with each other.
