Baker Publishing Group tops SELAH Awards |

Baker Books and Revell—divisions of Baker Publishing Group—won four SELAH Awards in total last night during the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference. Held May 19-23 at LifeWay's Ridgecrest Conference Center, located near Asheville, N.C., the conference culminated with an awards banquet, which was webcast live. Dianne Neal Matthews' Designed for Devotion (Baker Books) won the Inspiration & Gift category. Linda Evans Shepherd's When You Need a Miracle (Revell) was a First Place winner tied with Allison Bottke's Setting Boundaries with Food (Harvest House Publishers) in the Christian Life category. Dan Walsh's The Reunion and The Discovery (both Revell) won in Fiction: Contemporary and Fiction: Historical, respectively. Other winners included C. Kevin Thompson's The Serpent's Grasp (Oak Tara) in Fiction: First Novel; Rachel Hauck's The Wedding Dress (Thomas Nelson) in Fiction: Romance; and Ronie Kendig's Firethorn (Barbour Publishing) in Fiction: Suspense. Alton Gansky, a best-selling novelist and the conference director, Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Contest Director Eva Marie Everson and Edie Melson announced the winners.
