David C Cook announced Friday the acquisition of Standard Publishing’s Bible lesson commentary series, Sunday school curriculum and other church resources. Standard Publishing traces its roots back to The Christian Standard, a periodical first published in 1866. In the decades since, Standard has created magazines, devotionals, commentaries, small-group guides and Sunday school curriculum for all ages. Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, David C Cook has been serving the church since David Caleb Cook founded the organization in 1875. David C Cook has reached millions of adults and children with books, curriculum, worship music and other disciple-shaping resources. The company also acquired Gospel Light curricula in November. David C Cook CEO Cris Doornbos commented on the acquisition. “Both David C Cook and Standard were pioneers in Sunday school curriculum over a century ago," Doornbos said. "It’s exciting to see the two organizations come together generations later with the same values and Bible-focused materials that they had at the beginning.” As a nonprofit organization with international reach, David C Cook is committed to furthering Standard Publishing’s mission to provide “true-to-the-Bible resources that inspire, educate and motivate people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.” |
