Zondervan has named Gary Wicker the company's CFO.

In his new role, Wicker will be responsible for all of Zondervan's finance and accounting operations, and will have oversight of the company's credit, collections and facilities departments. He also will serve on the company's leadership team.

“Gary brings an incredible breadth and depth of financial and operations experience to Zondervan, and I'm confident he will add tremendous value to our organization,” said Doug Lockhart, president and CEO of Zondervan. “His leadership in strategic planning, financial analysis and organizational growth within a large global company reinforces our goal of operational excellence and will help us continue to improve our position as the leading provider of transformational Christian experiences worldwide.”

Wicker comes to Zondervan from The Thomson Corporation, a global publishing and information solutions company located in Stamford, Conn. During his decade-long tenure there, he held executive-level positions in multiple divisions, including serving as senior vice president of finance and controller of Thomson Learning, a $2 billion division focused on the higher-education market. Wicker was responsible for global financial reporting and internal controls and led the initial implementation of public reporting requirements in addition to managing a global accounting staff of more than 250 people.

Additionally, Wicker served as the senior vice president of finance and CFO of Thomson Lifelong Learning Group in Illinois and as the CFO of Thomson Legal and Regulatory Europe in London.
