altA museum-quality exhibit called The Bible History Experience will be featured in the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's (ECPA) new, consumer-oriented Christian Book Expo (CBE), in Dallas, March 20-22.

Provided by Dr. Rusty Maisel and publishers Crossway Books & Bibles, Tyndale House Publishers and Zondervan, the exhibit-featuring historical manuscripts, biblical artifacts and other Christian literary antiquities-will be on display at the Dallas Convention Center, ECPA officials said.

Teaching children lessons from the book of Proverbs about patience, diligence and compassion, the lovable space cadets Zidgel, Midgel, Fidgel and Kevin as well as brother and sister Jason and Michelle face giant ants, dancing tikis and a volcano on the verge of eruption.

altFollowing on the heels of the success of Steven Curtis Chapman's poignant "Cinderella," another song has led to a children's book by a popular Christian musician.

Music and story come together with the April release of Dance Me, Daddy, in which Cindy Morgan celebrates the unique relationship between a girl and her father. She wrote the story based on the song "King of the World," recorded by Point of Grace.

altRebecca St. James provided the voice of "Hope the Music Box Angel" in the million-plus-selling VeggieTales: An Easter Carol (Big Idea/Word Distribution), but the GRAMMY Award and multiple Dove Award winner will soon star in her first leading movie role.

According to her Web site, St. James has only a few more scenes to shoot to complete Sarah's Choice--scheduled to release this fall. In a role that is opposite to her life values, St. James portrays Sarah--a career-minded, single woman who gets pregnant and is faced with a life-changing choice.

altDespite the challenges associated with carrying gifts, Christian retailers say the area has been a bright spot for them in recent times and contributes to the continued vitality of their stores.

Christian Retailing's Vital Signs study of this important category found two-thirds of stores reporting that their gift inventories were "steady or up" in the last couple of years, with the average number of SKUs held in inventory at around 750.

Publishers among ‘Best Christian Workplaces’ Print Email

altSeveral publishers have been named among the 2009 Certified Best Christian Workplaces according to awards given by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI).

Tyndale House Publishers, Howard Books, InterVarsity Press and God's World Publications, which publishes World magazine, were winners in the Publishing category. Howard Books was honored for the seventh consecutive year. "We are humbled by this recognition," Publisher John Howard said.
