Hillhouse brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role as he provides marketing leadership for both the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Bibles and study resources products, creating strategic campaigns that focus on the uniqueness of each brand.

Hillhouse was brought to the HarperCollins Christian team to foster excellence, creativity and innovation within the Bible team to help Thomas Nelson and Zondervan engage with new and loyal readers of God’s Word. Previously responsible for the oversight of Mardel Christian stores’ Bible merchandising program, Hillhouse brings hands-on Bible-selling experience to the team.

Logos Bible Software appoints Greg Monette as Canadian market representative Print Email

GregMonette_cropped-webLogos Bible Software has tapped Greg Monette to serve as the company’s ambassador in Canada. A native of Nova Scotia, Monette will help Canadian churches and ministry groups learn how to best use Logos Bible Software, Proclaim Church Presentation Software, the Faithlife Study Bible and related products to further biblical engagement.

“Outside the U.S., Canada is our largest customer base,” said Bob Pritchett, Logos’ president and CEO. “Greg Monette understands the church in Canada and will be able to represent us in person more often, helping us better serve our users there.”

“Kim was the owner and operator of J&J Graphic Solutions and has been operations manager for different apparel companies, while Cameron comes to us from National Home Centers Company as their production manager,” said Vic Kennett, founder and CEO of Kerusso. “Both demonstrate an eagerness to bring Kerusso to the next level, to reach even more people with the Gospel.”

Former Zondervan Editor Sue Brower joins Natasha Kern Literary Agency Print Email

SueBrower-webSusan Brower, former executive editor for Zondervan, has joined the Natasha Kern Literary Agency as literary agent.

Brower’s career spans almost 25 years in publishing and has included research, marketing, acquisitions and editorial responsibilities for fiction and nonfiction. She has worked with several New York Times best-selling novels, including titles from Karen Kingsbury, Terri Blackstock and Tim LaHaye. Brower was named Editor of the Year in 2010 by American Christian Fiction Writers and Advanced Writers and Speakers Association.

“I love fiction and am in awe of those writers who are gifted storytellers,” Brower said. “I want to be able to advocate for authors and help them achieve their publishing dream of seeing their words and stories in print.”

Natasha Kern, president of the agency, said of Brower’s hiring: “It will help us to continue to be a full-service agency as we support our authors careers through the many changes in the industry at this time. Sue and I share a purpose to support success for writers through our expertise in the publishing field.”

HarryHelm-webHarry Helm, vice president and associate publisher of marketing for Hachette Nashville, will be leaving the company to pursue personal interests.

“I hate to see Harry leave us, but I am happy for him because he is taking a direction that he has wanted to pursue for a long time,” said Rolf Zettersten, senior vice president and publisher at Hachette Nashville. “For many years Harry has wanted to follow his heart to New England and spend more time at his home on the shores of Cape Cod.”

Nelson Books hires veteran publishing executive Webb Younce Print Email

WebbYounceNelson Books, an imprint of Thomas Nelson, has announced the hiring of Webb Younce as associate publisher and executive editor, effective Oct. 21. Younce is filling the role previously held by Bryan Norman on the Nelson Books team. 

Younce comes to the imprint with more than 15 years of publishing experience. He began his career at Alfred A. Knopf and has worked for a number of New York houses since then, including Random House and Houghton Mifflin.  After two years in Berlin serving as editorial director of English language and international literature at German publishing house Suhrkamp Verlag, Younce most recently worked with Free Press at Simon & Schuster.

VictoriaCumbowAbingdon Press has hired Victoria Cumbow as marketing manager of leadership, theology and the Covenant Bible Study.

Prior to joining Abingdon, Cumbow worked at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Ala. as a communications specialist. In this role she handled the company’s social media presence, including blogging and aggregation across the web. Prior to that, she served as a staff writer and a part of the web team at The Huntsville Times where she was responsible for researching and writing stories for online and print.
