PhilWickhamTheAscension-webThe first single off Phil Wickham’s new album, The Ascension (Fair Trade Services/Provident Distribution), has hit No. 1 on Billboard’s National Christian Audience Chart. “This Is Amazing Grace” is Wickham’s first No. 1 single.

“ ‘This Is Amazing Grace’ was written to give the church a new song to both worship through and sing together,” Wickham said. “It's been awesome to see the way that this song has been impacting Christian radio listeners, and I'm honored to be a part of the work God is doing through it.”

David Yonggi Cho gets huge fine, probation for embezzlement Print Email

DavidYonggiCho-webPastor David Yonggi Cho, founder of the world’s largest Pentecostal church, received a suspended sentence of three years in prison for embezzling $12 million of church funds.

Cho is the author of several books, including The Fourth Dimension and Unleashing the Power of Faith (both Bridge-Logos Publishers).

Study: Most brands not prepared to manage customer complaints in social media Print Email

Most brands don’t have a strategy in place to manage customer complaints in social media, despite being plagued by negative posts by customers, competitors and employees, according to a survey conducted by Social Media Marketing University (SMMU).

Of the brands surveyed, 58.2% receive customer complaints via social media “occasionally,” 10.9% receive them “somewhat often” while 4.9% receive them “very often.” More than a quarter (26.1%) of brands’ reputations have been tarnished as a result of negative social media posts, with 15.2% losing customers and 11.4% suffering declining revenue.

Korean Christian publishing leader Seungtae Kim dies Print Email

SeungtaeKim2-webSeungtae Kim, president of the Korea Christian Publishers Association (KCPA) and Christian Trade Korea and publisher of Jeyoung Communications, died Friday morning, Feb. 21. He was 56, and leaves behind his wife, son and daughter.

Kim also organized the Korea Christian Rights Fair. He was also a board member for Christian Trade Association International (CTAI) from July 2010 to June 2013.

Skillet wins big at We Love Christian Music awards Print Email

WeLoveChristianMusicAwards2014Rock band Skillet led all artists during the second annual We Love Christian Music awards, which were presented piecemeal at The Roadshow concerts throughout January and February. The band garnered five honors, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year and the 2013 Fan Impact Award.

Skillet earned honors for Song of the Year (“Sick of It”), Album of the Year (Rise) and The Rawkfist award (Best Rock/Alternative Artist/Group). Skillet also won the Fan Impact Award: a write-in category that asks fans to identify the artist or group who most impacted them in 2013.
