New publisher launches ‘Mom Mentors’ program Print Email

MomMentors-webGraham Blanchard has launched Mom Mentors, a panel of seven blogging mothers who share their experiences and thoughts on parenting, faith and teaching children about God. The mom-centered monthly panel is available on the new children’s book publisher’s website.

With the tagline “Children’s Books for Growing up in God,” Graham Blanchard was launched last fall as a publisher of board books to teach spiritual lessons to young children. Author Callie Grant (Close as a Breath, “Knowing My God” series) is the house’s founder and publisher, as well as the moderator of the Mom Mentors panel.

LorenPawlitz-webLoren Pawlitz has been named director of e-commerce and communications for Concordia Publishing House (CPH). In this newly created position, Pawlitz will lead a diverse team charged with the creation of videos, websites, digital marketing and social media with the goal to connect customers with the products and services that best meet their mission needs.  Additionally, Pawlitz will oversee the communications vision for the company.

Pawlitz has worked at CPH since 2010, working in sales, marketing and e-commerce.

K-LOVEK-LOVE announced the nominees for this year’s second annual K-LOVE Fan Awards at a March 4 press event at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. K-LOVE—the leading Christian music radio network with a weekly listenership of more than 13 million people—will once again bring the only fan-voted award show in Christian music history to Music City.

Voting will be open May 1-31. The K-LOVE Fan Awards and Ultimate Fan Experience will begin Friday, May 30 and will wrap with a star-studded award show at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on Sunday, June 1. Artists slated to perform at the show include TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Newsboys and MercyMe.

ElizabethPittman-webElizabeth Pittman has been named manager of public relations for Concordia Publishing House. In this capacity, she will be responsible for managing communications efforts, corporate public relations and author relations.

In addition to her public relations responsibilities, Pittman will continue to manage Concordia Gospel Outreach, a mission effort of Concordia Publishing House that works to share Bible-based books and resources with other mission efforts around the world. She has held his role since joining Concordia Publishing House in 2011.

CAN-webThe Christian Authors Network (CAN) recently added three new officers to its operating board. Dave Fessenden, Christine Lindsay and Elizabeth Ludwig will serve as member at large; vice president and director of public relations, respectively.

CurtisRiskey-OfficialWebCBA President Curtis Riskey stands up for the rights of Hobby Lobby and other Christian-owned businesses in a guest column written for The Gazette (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

In the column, Riskey calls on the Supreme Court to reject the “false argument” that the government has espoused in the Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby healthcare case, that “commercial businesses and their owners—simply because they make profits—cannot exercise religion under the Constitution or federal law.”
