A social enterprise of women who have survived prostitution, trafficking, addiction and life on the streets, Nashville-based Thistle Farms and its two-year residential community, Magdalene, empower women to live anew as the community supports them through the creation and sale of natural body care products. Ingredients include cotton wicks, soybean-based ecowax, olive and coconut oils, sunflower seeds and essential oils.

CrazyBusyStreetPromotion-webResidents of Chicago got a pleasant surprise on the way to work last week, thanks to a unique promotion Crossway employees did for Kevin DeYoung’s Crazy Busy: A (Mercifully) Short Book About a (Really) Big Problem.

On Sept. 24, armed with flyers and more than 1,000 packets of Starbucks Via, a group of Crossway employees hit the streets of Chicago to promote DeYoung’s Crazy Busy. The team stood outside a key transportation hub to greet the morning rush-hour crowd with the gift of free coffee, conversation and a man dressed as an exclamation point.

Wanda Brunstetter surpasses 7 million books sold Print Email

TatteredQuiltWanda Brunstetter, New York Times best-selling author of Christian Amish fiction, has officially sold more than 7 million copies of her books.  She passed the 6 million mark in 2012, and has now sold another 1 million books in just over a year.

The Yakima, Wash., author’s novels have also appeared on the best-seller lists of USA Today, Publishers Weekly, CBA, ECPA and CBD.
