hillsong-open-heaven-river-wildHillsong Worship’s new album, Open Heaven / River Wild debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, No. 5 on Billboard's Digital Chart and Top 25 on the Billboard 200 in its first week. SoundScan charted the album at No. 1 on both Praise & Worship and Christian Digital Albums charts.

The album also reached No. 1 on iTunes' Christian/Gospel Albums and Top 10 iTunes Overall charts. Hillsong Worship's debut single, "One Thing," is currently impacting radio.

Jeremy Camp achieves 8th 'Billboard' No. 1 single Print Email

jeremy-camp-concertJeremy Camp received his eighth No. 1 single on the Billboard charts and his 38th No. 1 radio single across all radio formats with current single "Same Power." The single is Camp's second straight No. 1 from his latest album, I Will Follow (Capitol CMG), which itself debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Chart.

Camp expressed how blessed he was by the continual support for his music.

Tyndale's 'God for the Rest of Us' becomes TBN series Print Email

god-for-the-rest-of-usThe Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) picked up a new television series, God for the Rest of Us, based on the Tyndale House Publishers book of the same name.

The series will star author and Pastor Vince Antonucci, and follow his church, Verve, which ministers to people who work on and live around the Vegas Strip.

Andrews’ career includes positions with Musicland, Paul Harris Stores, Blockbuster and EZCorp. Andrews’ background also includes agency leadership, where he consulted for numerous companies, including Red Mango, TGI Friday’s and Frito Lay.

Small-business owners optimistic about holiday sales Print Email

Flickr-Christmas-Kate-HaskellSmall-business owners are optimistic about holiday sales this year, according to the OPEN Holiday Growth Pulse. In fact, the majority say they will be the same (55 percent) or better (37 percent) than last year.

Retail small businesses are particularly bullish and place greater weight on the holiday season for their future growth. Fifty-four percent feel their potential for business growth in 2016 will be contingent on a successful holiday season.

AAP StatShot: Strong retail growth in July Print Email

AAP-NewLogoBoth religious presses and the book industry as a whole improved in July 2015 compared July 2014, according to the Association of American Publishers’ StatShot report. Religious presses posted 14.6 percent growth, while total sales increased by 2.8 percent. Religious presses and “all other” improved the most this month, though only one category—educational course materials—posted a decline relative to July 2014 (3.3 percent).

The growth marks a welcome change for the industry, in which overall year-to-date sales have lagged behind last year’s by 2 percent. Religious presses have done even worse, declining by 4.9 percent in year-to-date statistics.

imagine-heavenJohn Burke’s Imagine Heaven (Baker Books/Baker Publishing Group) has debuted on the New York Times best-sellers list, taking the No. 9 spot for Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous. This ranking reflects sales for the week ending Oct. 31.

In the book, Burke explores the commonalities between more than 100 near-death experiences and how they align with glimpses of heaven in the Scriptures.
