Zondervan has established a publishing partnership with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, while “Left Behind” author Jerry B. Jenkins has found a new home—and a seven-figure deal—with Worthy Publishing.

Under the agreement with the former president, Zondervan will release three titles, including a children’s book inspired by President Carter, as well as a trade title and a Bible title that will be authored by him.

Sarah Young’s ‘Jesus Calling’ devotional titles continue to excel in sales for publisher Thomas Nelson, with the addition of Jesus Calling: Large Print Deluxe Edition to the general best-sellers list for weekly sales ending Oct. 15, according to Pubtrack Christian data from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

STL Distribution North America (STLD) looks set to change hands by the end of the year in a management buyout.

A six-strong executive leadership team at the Elizabethton, Tenn.-based wholesaler is preparing a bid for the company following an 11th-hour withdrawal by an anticipated purchaser.

New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg has reached career sales of more than 2.5 million copies.

A former political advisor, Rosenberg has earned a solid reputation for forecasting Middle East trends. His first two best-sellers, The Last Jihad and The Last Days, were originally published by Tor/Forge, but Tyndale House Publishers has since acquired the trade paperback rights and now publishes all seven of his political thrillers and two nonfiction titles on politics and faith in the Middle East.

Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. observed its 100th anniversary Aug. 11, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company recently announced.

The milestone also has been celebrated throughout the year, beginning with the Jan. 3 launch of EerdWord, a company blog at eerdword.wordpress.com that it says “exists to provide a platform on which contributors illustrate how today’s philosophies and theologies relate to everyday life” because “philosophizing and theologizing matter.”

Awards for outstanding contributions in the development of Christian retailing were presented last night at Retailing ReBoot West, the magazine’s training and trade event in Los Alamitos, Calif.
