ECPA's Executive Leadership Summit, Eric Metaxas' Bonhoeffer winning the Christian Book of the Year and Scott Macdonald being named Zondervan president and CEO—listen in as the magazine's editorial team looks to the month ahead. 
Industry veteran Bob Steele has joined Integra Interactive as director of technology. Steele has 35 years of experience in Christian retail, including managing a bookstore and serving as vice president of retail systems at Spring Arbor Distributors and founder of the Christian retail channel's first full-service online store. 
The Evangelical Press Association (EPA) presented its annual "Awards of Excellence" in Christian publishing at its convention, held May 4-6, in Chicago. The contest honored the best work done by EPA publications in 2010. 
Jumping the Broom—which co-stars and was co-produced by T.D. Jakes, pastor at The Potter's House in Dallas and a best-selling author—took third place in its debut weekend, collecting a "decent" $13.7 million from 2,035 theaters, according to the Los Angeles Times. 
Organizers anticipate the number of stores participating in this year's Christian Store Week will double that of the 2010 launch. 
Nominees for the 12th annual Christy Awards have been announced. The awards for excellence in Christian fiction will go to winners in nine categories: Contemporary Romance; Contemporary Series, Sequels and Novellas; Contemporary Stand-alone; First Novel; Historical; Historical Romance; Suspense; Visionary; and Young Adult. 
Zondervan's new leader has spoken about his delight at returning to the Christian products industry and some of his plans for the future.
