Translation work on the New International Version (NIV)--the world's best-selling Bible translation that is being revised for the first time in 25 years--is nearly complete.

Zondervan--which publishes both the NIV and Today's New International Version (TNIV)--and Biblica, holder of the NIV copyright, will begin the production process for print and digital versions of the NIV update once the final text is proofed, company officials said. The March 2011 launch will feature a full line of new NIV Bibles.

Nelson partnership for KJV anniversary Print Email

Thomas Nelson has announced a partnership with The History Channel Club, The History Channel Magazine and Salem Communications to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Version (KJV) Bible in 2011.

The partnerships are "a significant strategic element" of Nelson's KJV400 celebration campaign, which will commemorate the historical, religious and cultural impact of the KJV--the top-selling Bible translation of all time, company officials said.

Bridgestone Multimedia spotlighted in virtual show Print Email

A variety of DVD titles from Bridgestone Multimedia Group are being highlighted in Christian Retailing's Virtual Christian Retailing Show.

Running through Labor Day, Sept. 6, the show is hosted by Christian Retailing magazine, aiming to help stores set themselves for the fall and Christmas seasons with product news, order specials and training. It is the magazine's fourth virtual trade event since debuting the innovative program following last year's International Christian Retail Show.

Company's art is ‘eternally inspiring' Print Email

Seeking "to inspire and encourage through original art," Suwannee, Ga.-based Velvet Lime Designs is releasing several new images, including Having Hope, on Sept. 1.

The images are mounted on 7.25-by-6-inch black or white wood with a flush mount for wall or desktop display at $24 suggested retail or $34 for American eco-friendly bamboo.

'Miracle of the Widow' in Christian stores Print Email

The inspirational drama Miracle of the Widow has been released on DVD by Broadway Bridge Productions and is being distributed to Christian retail by Lukas Media and Anchor Distributors.

The movie tells the story of Grace Harrington (Rachel Dennis), a college graduate running from her parents' Christian faith, who discovers the secrets hidden by an bakery owner and Holocaust survivor Ruth Zeller (Jody Spradlin).

With schools nationwide starting back up, Leading apparel company Kerusso is encouraging students to express their Christian faith through what they wear to school.

Vic Kennett, president and CEO of Kerusso, said students have First Amendment rights in public schools--which include the freedom to communicate Christian messages through apparel.
