DaySpring retailers are invited to celebrate the National Day of Encouragement--Sept. 12--by giving away an encouragement card to each of their customers the week of Sept. 6. With the company giving away a half-million cards, each active DaySpring store has received a supply of the free encouragement card.

The scripture on the card comes from Gen. 12:2: "I will bless you ... and you will be a blessing." The message inside is: "I'm so thankful that one of the many lives you've touched is mine. I pray God multiplies back to you the blessing you are, many times over."

'KJV Standard Commentary' tops ECPA list Print Email

With a new church season starting, Standard Publishing's KJV Standard Lesson Commentary, 2010-2011 makes its annual strong showing in the best-seller lists from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

The softcover edition heads the list of top 50 titles for September, while the large print softcover edition is in fourth spot. The rest of the top 10 is: 2. Jesus Calling by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson); 3. Crazy Love by Francis Chan (David C. Cook); 5. Forgotten God by Francis Chan (David C. Cook); 6. Take Four by Karen Kingsbury (Zondervan); 7. As the release of the third movie installment of C.S. Lewis' classic "The Chronicles of Narnia" series nears, HarperOne is launching the first Bible featuring writings by the beloved author.

Going on sale next month, The C.S. Lewis Bible combines the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) text with readings from a selection of Lewis' works, including Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters and The Problem of Pain.
