Thomas Nelson recently released the newest "Max Lucado's Hermie & Friends" DVD.

In Antonio Meets His Match, Antonio (Sam Mercurio) must use something other than physical strength to deal with foreign ants moving into the garden. Released last month, the 14th episode in the popular series teaches children a lesson from Luke 10:27, "love your neighbor as you love yourself."

Razor & Tie Records recently released Christian rock band Day of Fire's third album, Losing All.

Released Jan. 26, Losing All reflects the tumultuous last few years for Day of Fire frontman Josh Brown. "We changed management," Brown told Billboard magazine. "We changed booking agencies. We changed labels. At the time, I was going through a divorce. Me and my wife are back together now, but my life was just turned upside down completely. So that's what the record is about-pretty much having the rug pulled out from under you."

Dobson to host new daily radio show Print Email

Focus on the Family founder and best-selling author James Dobson will host a new daily radio show this year with his son, Ryan. Dobson recently announced the show, to be called ''James Dobson on the Family,'' on his Facebook page, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

Last November, Dobson said that he planned to leave Focus on the Family and its flagship radio broadcast at the end of this month. He said his new show, which will air in March, will cover many of the same topics, including marriage, child-rearing and national issues.

Big Idea’s multi-production animation deal Print Email

Big Idea has entered into a multi-production relationship with animation studio Entrenched Inc., with the two companies agreeing to collaborate on new VeggieTales content, including DVDs.

The animation will be completed by Entrenched's sister company, Hawaii Animation Studios (HAS). Previously, HAS played a part in the production of Big Idea and Universal Studio's 2008 theatrical release--VeggieTales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything--as well as the animated "3-2-1 Penguins!" series.

In the wake of reality TV couple Jon and Kate Gosselin's highly publicized divorce in December, Zondervan will release a new book by Kate Gosselin on April 13.

I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family "continues Kate's story of faith and family," picking up where Jon and Kate's Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving With Twins and Sextuplets ended, Zondervan officials said.

Cook launches North American music division Print Email

David C. Cook has launched a North American music division of its Kingsway Music subsidiary in the United Kingdom.

While the U.K. division will remain in Eastbourne, England, the new North American office will open in Colorado Springs, Colo., in March. Steve Nicolle, director of music and media at David C. Cook Distribution Canada, will head up the Kingsway division, which was developed "to more effectively serve the North American church," company officials said.

Store's ' S.O.S. Campaign' gets ‘big response’ Print Email

A longtime Christian store has received "a big response" to an e-mail S.O.S. appeal for help to stay in business.

Located six miles north of Detroit, His Hand Christian Bookstore in Warren, Mich., has been opened for 35 years, but was in danger of having to close its doors because it was about $50,000 in debt.

Harvest House founder Bob Hawkins dies Print Email

Harvest House Publishers founder R.H. "Bob" Hawkins Sr., a widely respected figure in Christian publishing, died Feb. 9 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 87.

Hawkins received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) and the Life Impact Award from CBA. Hawkins was instrumental in the establishment of ECPA, serving several terms on its board and was its president from 1985 to 1986.
