Munce’s Expo sees attendance increase Print Email

Although the economy continues to struggle, retailers and supplier attendance was up for the Munce Group's Christian Product Expo (CPE) from last year's show.

CPE Nashville 2010--held Sept. 12-14 at the Embassy Suites Murfreesboro Hotel and Convention Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.--saw a 13% increase in retailer attendance from last year's event, while vendor attendance was up approximately 8%, according to organizers.

Christian fiction's annual gala night featured a standing ovation for the woman credited with ushering in a new era for the category that has grown to one seeing increased sales and general market and media interest.

The 600-plus crowd for the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) awards ceremony at the close of the group's three-day conference in Indianapolis rose to applaud longtime Bethany House Editor Carol Johnson as she received the organization's first Lifetime Achievement Award last night.

Precious Moments, Roman sign licensing agreement Print Email

Precious Moments has announced a licensing agreement with Roman to design and distribute inspirational products for the Christian market. The two gift companies say they plan to make products "uniquely suited to the Christian consumer," and will include Samuel J. Butcher's Precious Moments artwork, said officials for both suppliers.

The initial licensed introduction, due out this fall, will include sacramental gifts available for the first quarter of 2011. Later introductions will include more inspirational product, including plaques, crosses and frames, as well as a line of Christmas products.

Bishop T.D. Jakes, pastor of The Potter's House in Dallas and best-selling author, has signed a distribution and marketing agreement between his Dexterity Sounds record label and the Universal Music Christian Group (UMCG).

"We are incredibly delighted to be in a partnership with a world-renowned leader of Bishop T.D. Jakes' stature and influence," said UMCG Vice President Rhoda Lawrence. Fiction writers’ conference kicks off Print Email

The American Christian Fiction Writers' (ACFW) annual conference kicks off tomorrow.

To be held Sept. 17-20 at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis, the event will feature the presentation of The Carol Awards, formerly called the Book of the Year Awards.
